How to maintain

The laser tube, reflector and focusing mirror are the core components of the mechanical equipment of the engraving machine.

All parts are indispensable, and they interact and cooperate with each other inside the laser engraving machine.

Therefore, regular inspections and maintenance must be scheduled to ensure they are in good working order.

This part will show how to maintain the laser tube, reflector and focusing mirror to prolong the life of the engraving machine.

Section1: How to clean the CO2 laser tube

Your laser tube loses about 9 - 13% of its laser capacity through the lens and mirror. When they get dirty, this may increase significantly, and the additional power loss on the working surface will mean that you need to reduce the working speed or increase the laser power.

External Cleaning of Glass Tubes

The glass tube will turn yellow due to oil stains in the air and alkali in water vapor.

In addition, if glass glue is added to the glass or its surface, it will turn yellow after being exposed to sunlight.

But this discoloration DOES NOT affect the normal work of the machine.

If the laser tube has been discolored, you can wipe the outside with water or alcohol.

Internal Cleaning of Glass Tubes

After working for a period of time, there may be a lot of dirt (such as impurities, dust, microorganisms, etc. in the cooling water) attached to the inner wall of the CO2 laser tube.

We most recommend using vinegar or hydrochloric acid to clean the glass tube.

Detailed cleaning steps

- First of all, it is necessary to disconnect the positive and negative wires as well as the water inlet and outlet of carbon dioxide with the power off.

- Then pour out all the water in the laser tube and stick it on the laser beam outlet with adhesive tape to ensure that the output light is completely free from pollution during cleaning.

- Input vinegar or hydrochloric acid into the water inlet of the laser tube until it is full.

- Then let it stand for half an hour, shake it slightly, and then take out the liquid.

- Put it carefully on the table, wait for 30 minutes, shake it well, and then take out the liquid from the test tube.

- Then rinse the laser tube with purified water.

Section2: How to clean laser mirrors and focal lenses

Why should we clean the laser mirrors and focus lens?

Why should we clean the laser mirrors and focus lens?

The laser lens is divided into focus lens, lens protection and other types.

Laser engraving/cutting will accumulate residues during normal laser processing. When using dirty materials, a large amount of smoke will be generated, and the lens will get dirty faster. When a laser is used with a dirty lens, the lens generates heat and destroys it.

Section3: How to clean the guide rail

The guide rail and linear axis are one of the core components of the equipment.

The guide rail and linear axis are one of the core components of the equipment.

During the operation of the equipment, a large amount of corrosive dust and smoke will be generated from the processed parts, and these smoke and dust will be deposited on the surface of the guide rail and linear shaft for a long time.

The machine guide rails should be cleaned every half a month, and the machine should be turned off before cleaning.

How to cleaning the guide rail

Step1: Use a clean soft rag to wipe off the floating soil on the bearings and white wheels

Step2: Pour a little machine oil on the soft rag, and lightly oil the track once

Perfect engraving and cutting results require perfectly clean optics and proper maintenance, especially when using wood or rubber that produces more dust than other applications.
